Magic Man Hypnotize Me
Little is known about this record besides that it was bought in a small record store in the Mainzer Straße in Berlin-Friedrichshain
in the summer of 1994. This is called a “white label” because of the minimalist label style.
Such records were often used as inofficial promotion items pressed in very limited quantities and a typical occurrence in 1990ies DJ culture.
There is, however, a matrix number (an inscription within the end groove) saying “DROP·R·I·AI” on the A side. According to discogs.com
then this is a “One Drop Record” and was released in 1993 in the UK. However, this is a bit of a narrow state of sources.
The musical style may be classified as breakbeats, however relatively melodious, and very groovy and danceable; a rare unknown classic.
Another remarkable feature is that it is single-sided, that is, the B side is completely empty without a groove. However, this also renders the record
a useful tool for adjusting antiskating.
